About SMT
Savannah Marine Terminal Inc. (SMT) transfers grain and other bulk commodities from CSX and Norfolk Southern railcars or hopper trucks to container trucks which are driven to the port for export.
Savannah Marine Terminal boasts a 40-acre multiplex and is capable of moving hundreds of thousands of tons of bulk material, grain, coil, oil, forest products and heavy-lift commodities per month. With direct access to two major rail companies, Savannah Marine Terminal is able to simultaneously unload a vast number of cars from both CSX and Norfolk Southern each day.

Its three warehouses offer 80,000 square feet of storage, in addition to a dry storage facility for economical holding of excess product. Its advanced inventory control systems ensure accurate records and the highest level of product safety.
Established in 2002, Savannah Marine Terminal is run by a team of industry leaders with more than 35 years of experience. The company has a hands-on ownership philosophy, and works closely with its customers, Georgia Port Authority, CSX and Norfolk Southern to continuously improve operations and implement the latest technology.
